Problem: Gravity Over 50 million Americans go running each year and 116 million more folks walk outdoors for fitness. Each year up to 70% of these runners will experience an injury needing rehabilitation. 1.5 million of them and countless walkers will quit and head for the gym or the couch for good. Gravity is the root cause, as so many runners and walkers simply can’t bear the pounding of 2.4 to 4 times their weight in ground reaction force. (BYU Study)
Solution: Weightless Running Revolution A Brigham Young University sports research study found that, “runners using the GlideCycle experienced an 86% reduction in ground reaction force (GRF).” Our patented suspension system lifts the body by cradling the pelvis (no crotch pressure) into the natural spring arch frame and allows clients to achieve a closer motion to actual running or walking than any other equipment on earth. Running with wheels means running fast, far, and as hard as you want without impact pain.
GlideCycle Review
by Cindy Powell, master GlideCyclist, MPT,ATC,STS,CEAS
I am 43 years old, reasonably fit and have not been able to run for over 9 years because of old injuries. I exercise 30-90 minutes most days and occasionally bike or glide for up to two hours on the weekend. Yet I can go out and run a complete marathon whenever I want. HOW?
I run on a GlideCycle™, the World’s first super-low- impact, outdoor sport runner. I can run as hard as I want, with my heart rate in any desired zone and can average 6 -7 minute miles. I get the most amazing workouts on my GlideCycle™ and because it reduces damaging impact, I don’t have to train the way marathoners do to prepare their bodies to withstand 26.2 miles of POUNDING!
The GlideCycle™ stimulates muscle and bone during workouts; it just doesn’t allow the damaging impact. It is as close to running as I could ever need. If I get fatigued during a marathon, I can slow my pace instead of stopping to walk. If I want my heart rate in the upper training zones, great; if I don’t, no problem. I often do a couple of 8-12 mile GlideCycle™ runs on weekdays (50 minutes to 1.5 hours) and enjoy longer weekend Glide/Runs of 15-20 miles.
The best part is that after a marathon, my legs and body WON’T HURT! Did you catch that? I won’t limp away, feeling sore or even very stiff like so many of the runners I see after marathons with ice bags and tape strapped to their bodies. I won’t have to rely on knee braces, thigh or shin supports, or ultra expensive running shoes to get me through. My body and legs will feel exhilarated and springy, ready for stairs or just walking around to enjoy the rest of the day. However, I admit that by evening, I will probably feel more tired than usual and drift off to sleep hours earlier from such a great and satisfying workout.
Hills? No problem. Off road? You bet. I only have to take command of my saddle comfort similar to a bicycle seat but without pressure to sensitive perineal tissues. Bring it on.
Because there is no major tissue damage and joint trauma to recover from, I could run another marathon that week if I so desire. Why would I ever punish my body on concrete again just to see if I can do it? I get everything I could ever need from running on the GlideCycle™ including loads of fun and the biggest smile every time!
Give up the injuries and run for life! Check out the sporty GlideCycle™, perhaps the ideal Trainer or Cross Trainer and challenge yourself to incredible workouts. And to keep up with me...you will need wheels!!!
